Raging lunatics, househeads, freaks of nature; whatever you
want to call us. From the valley to the mountains to the desert to the beach
from dusk until dawn, we all come together for one reason- the love of music.
Not just any kind of music, but electronic dance music. The light shows, the
installations, the beats, the bass, the thousands of people, the vibes all make
the experience indescribable to those on the outside. The lifestyle is so
addicting and hard to escape once pulled in. Fast, uplifting, heart-pounding
beats and dirty, filthy bass add to the wild experience and give us music
lovers a feeling that is way too sublime for
words. The beat flows through our veins making it impossible not to move.
Everyone in the crowd is so passionate about the music that it creates such a
positive, motivational vibe. Friends are lost? Make new ones. Thirsty? Share
someone’s water. Can’t see? Hop on someone’s shoulders. Everyone is there to
rage their hearts out to their favorite djs with people who are just as enthusiastic about it as
they are. Once the show is over, music lovers tend to go through withdrawals,
also known as PSD- post show depression. To cure PSD, scheduling and planning
of the next music festival is usually in order. All this might sound outrageous
to those on the outside, but if they have never been they will never be able to
understand the inexpressible feeling. Another thing we have in common- we have
experienced the feeling and how incredibly mind-blowing it feels. Therefore, we have a huge
appreciation for this music and everything that comes with it. If you have
never been to a rave or EDM music festival before, this may be hard to fully comprehend,
simply because you have never been. The planning and preparation for these
events takes months. The set ups and rehearsals take place a week or two weeks
before the event. A lot of anticipation and anxiety build up before a show, but
once inside its all let go making the whole experience that much better.
Rage on, JD.
